Service in schools and educational services
I have worked in schools and given workshop to teachers in many states: New Hampshire, Maryland, California, New York, North Carolina, and Florida.
My most frequent work since 1997 is in New York City: I facilitate faculty study groups or conduct workshops three days a month attended by ESL, bilingual teachers and school administrators and literacy coaches from 13 schools at Region 9. At my monthly visit, we discuss professional readings and issues pertaining to improvement of instruction for English language learners, observe and debrief teaching, and design lesson unit plans.
My consultant work is associated with New York City, AUSSIE (Australia Education Association in North America), North Carolina Education Inc. and PD Network of NCTE.
I am also a member of the Fairness Review Committee for American College Testing Inc. I review testing materials and serve on their nation-wide discussion panel.
